Listen

Do you hear it? Hope you will be fine. I know life is going to be harsh, but bear with it. I believe you can do it. Can you see the sky filled with the radiance of sunset? it's going to be a great ending. I know the day is going to be long, but please endure it... I know you can do it. Can you feel the touch of wind? Breath every breeze, and you will find calmness... i'm going to watch over you from far...Don't worry. =)

Weird interpretation

i just experience weird thinking while doing my coursework... its regarding the relationships of a word with its phoneme. Phonemes are the sound produced when we try to read out a word. However, everytime I tried to recall the phonemes of any words, I tend to put the English phonemes in Korean phonemes. My head filled with Hangul letterings when I'm doing that... LOL... this sounds normal as I'm learning Korean but it is still weird.. Day by day, I'm starting to think like Korean and speak like Korean too.. I always jumble up the words or misplaced the words. When I reflect back, yup, sometimes I use Korean grammatical rules in speech.... >.< I need to balance this inequality. It seems like my second and third language are going to doom...

Royal Noble Consorts and Concubine's rank

This is the side effect of watching historical drama. I love to know more about culture and the beliefs of Korean people during Joseon Dynasty... So, I made some research and found out the ranks of King's women.

rank
romanization
hangul
hanja
Rank 1A 1
Bin
Rank 1B 1
Gui-in
귀인
貴人
Rank 2A 2
So-ui
소의
昭儀
Rank 2B 2
Sook-ui
숙의
淑儀
Rank 3A 3
So-yeong
소용
昭容
Rank 3B 3
Sook-yeong
숙용
淑容
Rank 4A 4
So-won
소원
昭媛
Rank 4B 4
Sook-won
숙원
淑媛

For the rank of Bin, the King or Queen consort would attach a prefix in association with the character /personality of the Royal Consort, such as Hee Bin (Hee = Radiant), Sook Bin (Sook = Clarity/Purity), Ui Bin (Ui = Appropriate/Fitting), and so forth. However, they are all of the same rank "Bin" so they are all of equal rank.

Alkisah Pukul 2 pagi

Ni cerita yang classmate aku bgtau. Cite ni mula lps kami chit chatting pasal aras 3.

TO BE CONTINUED......

Welcome to the world of Dang'ui

Jeonwangbidangui
After watching Dong Yi, I've become interested in Dang'ui. Have you ever heard of Dang'ui? =D Dang'ui is an upper garment for women from royalty, princesses, queen, royal consorts and noble women used during formal ceremonies during Joseon Dynasty. The undergarment is called chima. For the queen, Her Majesty's chima will have two layers of embroidered gold pattern. For the royal consorts, their chima will only have 1 layer of embroidered gold pattern. For the common people(noble), their dang'ui will be plain without any decoration.

A story I treasure the most - Ugly The Cat

Everyone in the apartment complex where I lived knew who Ugly was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, and shall we say, love.

The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye and where the other should have been was a hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner.

Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby, striped type, except for the sores covering his head, neck and even his shoulders. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction. "That's one UGLY cat!!!”
All the children were warned not to touch him, the adults threw rocks at him, hosed him down, squirted him when he tried to come in their homes, or shut his paws in the door when he would not leave.

Ugly always had the same reaction. If you turned the hose on him, he would stand there, getting soaked until you gave up and quit. If you threw things at him, he would curl his lanky body around your feet in forgiveness. Whenever he spied children, he would come running, meowing frantically and bump his head against their hands, begging for their love. If you picked him up he would immediately begin suckling on your shirt, earrings, whatever he could find.

One day Ugly shared his love with the neighbor's huskies. They did not respond kindly, and Ugly was badly mauled. From my apartment I could hear his screams, and I tried to rush to his aid. By the time I got to where he was laying, it was apparent Ugly's sad life was almost at an end.

Ugly lay in a wet circle, his back legs and lower back twisted grossly out of shape, a gaping tear in the white strip of fur that ran down his front. As I picked him up and tried to carry him home, I could hear him wheezing and gasping, and could feel him struggling. I must be hurting him terribly, I thought.

Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear - Ugly, in so much pain, suffering and obviously dying, was trying to suckle my ear. I pulled him closer to me, and he bumped the palm of my hand with his head, then he turned one golden eye towards me, and I could hear the distinct sound of purring. Even in the greatest pain, that ugly battled scarred cat was asking only for a little affection, perhaps some compassion.
At that moment I thought Ugly was the most beautiful, loving creature I had ever seen. Never once did he try to bite or scratch me, try to get away from me, or struggle in any way. Ugly just looked up at me completely trusting in me to relieve his pain.

Ugly died in my arms before I could get inside, but I sat and held him for a long time afterwards, thinking about how one scarred, deformed little stray could so alter my opinion about what it means to have true pureness of spirit, to love so totally and truly. Ugly taught me more about giving and compassion than a thousand books, lectures, or talk show specials ever could, and for that I will always be thankful .
He had been scarred on the outside, but I was scarred on the inside, and it was time for me to move on and learn to love truly and deeply. To give my total to those I cared for.

Many people want to be richer, more successful, well liked, beautiful, but for me, I will always try to be Ugly.

My afternoon with Dong Yi

just done watching Dong Yi episode 20. 40 more episodes to go.... All efforts to help proving the Queen's innocence been a failure when the King gave his order for dethronement of the Queen. Now, I hate the character of Royal Consort Hui (Jang Ok Joung).... She dares to frame other person just for her ambition.... South Faction rule the government while West faction lost their power...Sad, but the story is getting more and more interesting... Can't wait to see Dong Yi overthrown the new Queen. How? =) Hmm..I need to wait a few more episodes for that.... =D... At least watching Dong Yi release my stress a little bit from those assignments....

Recalling my leisure time

I've done reading a novel by Anchee Min, Empress Orchid. I've done some research after I read it and I found out that the main character in the novel is Empress Dowager Ci Xi who once ruled China. She was born to a Manchu clan called Yehonala and was given a name as Orchid. Her father died when she is still young, almost being married to her crippled cousin, but saved by fate to be a concubine of the Emperor of China. She was favored by the King and always being consulted by the King to help in government affairs. Nice novel. Although the novel is based on true story in history, Anchee Min was able to make the details of the story being lined up carefully, fully detailed and alive in such a way that the readers will always anticipate what will happen next...

Now, I'm reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. It is one of my favourite. It tells me how difficult and sad to be born as a woman in Chinese society and the need of perfect foot binding... telling me step by step on how they break the bones, keep forcing the girls to walk although the pain were overwhelming and form the feets to be 'Golden Lily' feet. I heard there is a movie based on this novel. I really want to watch the movie, but I will wait until I've done reading this novel. Heartbreaking, joy, love, all are mixed to make this story line a brilliant art.

Once upon a time...

Dear once upon a time
Send my gratitude to someone far away
I cant reach but you will..
This is the heart, saying the charms

Be my wings, and let me fly...
As the world is round, there is no end
Once in cold, you'll be my fur
Covering me, saviour from cold

Through desserts we go
You'll never let thirst comes
You'll be my jacket through thick torn bushes
Bruising your flesh, stepping on thousand thorns.

As I fall deep and I break my limbs
You'll be my limbs
How ferocious, how tedious I will be
But you will be my happy

So, listen once upon a time
When I reach there
I'll thank you for your kindness
For saying my gratitude and letters from heart
From past to the future
To thy whom far but now together
